Anne L’Huillier will give a lecture at the ENS in Lyon and participate in a panel discussion on the role of women in science

The École normale supérieure de Lyon is hosting Anne L’Huillier, winner of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics and a former student of the ENS in Fontenay-aux-Roses, for a special day of meetings, lectures, and discussions on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
To honor her, the school’s physics-chemistry lecture hall will be renamed the Anne L’Huillier Lecture Hall.

At 4:30 p.m., Anne L’Huillier will give a public lecture in the Mérieux Amphitheater on her research, giving everyone the opportunity to discover attosecond physics.

The lecture will be followed, at 6:00 PM, by a roundtable discussion on the role of women in science, featuring Isabelle Vauglin, an astrophysicist at CRAL and president of the Femmes & Sciences association.
Anne L’Huillier has also agreed to serve as honorary patron of the 2024 “Science: A Woman’s Profession!” event, which will take place on March 8 at the ENS.

The lecture and roundtable discussion will be streamed live on the ENS Lyon website.
