The Galaxy-Halo Connection in Cosmology Using Wide-Field Spectroscopic Surveys
Abstract
Since the early 2000s, wide-field spectroscopic surveys—particularly multi-fiber experiments—have provided us with unprecedented maps of the large-scale structure of the Universe. Combined with state-of-the-art galaxy formation simulations, these surveys allow us to probe the galaxy-halo connection with increasing precision. In this talk, I will review recent advancements in our understanding of how galaxies populate dark matter halos, with a focus on new probes and new challenges arising from current and future wide-field spectroscopic surveys.
