New tools from wave topology for asteroseismology
Abstract
Asteroseismology studies waves in stars and uses them to infer their internal structure. Today, with space photometry missions such as Kepler and TESS, we can detect oscillations in tens of thousands of stars. I will present new theoretical tools based on wave topology—originally developed for condensed matter physics—that unify and extend classical results in asteroseismology, shedding new light on oscillation spectra and their applications.
