Beyond the Hubble Frontier: How Is the JWST Shaping Our Understanding of the Early Universe?

Abstract

The launch of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) in late 2021 marked the beginning of a new era in astronomy. With its unprecedented infrared sensitivity and resolution, JWST is now routinely detecting galaxies from the first few hundred million years of cosmic history. In this talk, I will review some of the key results from JWST observations of high-redshift galaxies, focusing on the surprising abundance of bright early galaxies and what they tell us about the physics of galaxy formation.
